This morning our local Ocee Park became the set for a Billy Crystal film "Call Me Artie".   It's really impressive to see the city of tents and trucks that are transforming the park.   This major transformation happened in less than two hours.   By the way, as per the signs, Ocee Park is temporarily closed.

Evangeline Carr, Christan Ross, Laurie Bos, Serena Henry, &  Beverly Fenello, Boh Bohorquez

President-Elect Boh Bohrquez introduced Dick Williams, from The Georgia Gang, as the keynote speaker at the WCR Atlanta October 20th business luncheon.   Mr. Williams talked about the future of Atlanta giving us a history of the transportation issues.   Transportation is why Atlanta exists with railways,  3 major highways, plus an international airport.   He noted that traffic is Atlanta's biggest problem.   We need to work on the issues like the Dallas/Fort Worth area did.  Dallas/Fort Worth is booming.   All of the new cities in the Atlanta area are doing well.  There's been a healthy trend toward small cities and municipalities.   Dick also noted that it was great that the Govenor of Georgia and the Mayor of Atlanta worked well together.

President Serena Henry introduced the 2012 WCR Atlanta Board as follows:   Evangeline Carr, Christan Ross, Laurie Bos, Beverly Fenello and Boh Bohorquez.

Congressman Price at GNFCC Breakfast

Congressman Tom Price was the featured speaker at the September 27th Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast held at the Country Club of Roswell.   His Washington update was that the government should not obstruct what business is trying to do.   He said that we are at a crossroad of opposing views on whether or not to expand the Federal Government.  The business of America is the opportunity for everyone to fulfill their dream. He reminded everyone to “Hold on fast to the Constitution of the United States for if it should fail there will be anarchy in the world.”   Congressman Price talked about the political process:  1) engage, 2) recruit others, and 3) believe in the process and our country.   The greatest notion ever is that we can do anything we set our minds to do.  Th challenges are great, but opportunity is right in front of us.
